Splints, also known as orthoses, are often required in the management of common upper extremity conditions. They are often prescribed for positioning, support and protection following an injury or surgery, and can also be used to reduce the pain and inflammation resulting from a repetitive strain injury. They can even be used to help you regain motion if your joint or condition has been immobilized for a long time.

Our hand therapists can fit you with one of our premium prefabricated splints, or fabricate a custom splint as required. Custom splints are often better for a variety of reasons, including improved fit, adaptability, breathability, durability, and esthetics.

Your hand therapist can work with you to find a splint to suit your needs and your budget. Most extended health plans cover custom rigid splints partially or in full.
