Types of Treatments
When you come into Active Recovery Physio and Hand Therapy you’ll receive treatment from a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) with more than 4,000 hours of specialized experience. CHTs are physiotherapists and occupational therapists with extensive training in injuries, conditions and rehabilitation of the upper extremity from the shoulder to the hand.
Your CHT will perform a detailed assessment of your injury, condition or problem, provide a physiotherapy diagnosis, if required. Then she’ll create a personalized treatment plan that may include:
Fabrication of a custom orthosis (splint) or selection of a prefabricated splint/brace
Manual therapy treatment
Prescription of a personalized home exercise program
Use of modalities such as electrotherapy, ultrasound, whirlpool, heat or cold
