Athletic Therapy

Athletic Therapists treat individuals of all ages and abilities, from professional athletes to older adults hoping to live more independently. They strive to help people reach their goals, whether that is a return to work, to sport, to prevent future injury, or to make activities of daily living pain-free. They use a blend of hands-on manual therapy and modality application, with a focus on exercise rehabilitation.

  • Manual therapy treatment, such as active or passive soft tissue release, joint mobilizations and assisted-PNF stretching
  • Supervised in-clinic exercise
  • Athletic taping or bracing
  • Use of modalities such as ultrasound, electrotherapy or heat
  • Personalized home exercise program prescription

Specialized Care for ICBC Clients

  • Under the Kinesiologist designation, we also provide active rehabilitation to ICBC clients
  • We will determine if you’re experiencing any discomfort, weakness or limitations with
movement and then provide a plan of care that suits your needs
  • Our goal is to help restore your strength and function, and allow a full return to your daily activities
  • At Active Recovery Physiotherapy & Hand Clinic we may also take a collaborative approach to your rehabilitation journey, with the opportunity to have both a Physiotherapist and Kinesiologist contributing to your treatment plan
