Nicole Hart

Registered Physiotherapist / Owner

Nicole is a Certified Hand Therapist with 14 years of physiotherapy experience. She obtained her Bachelor of Human Kinetics in Exercise Science from the University of British Columbia in 2001, and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of British Columbia in 2005. Since 2006, Nicole has worked in private practice in Victoria, specializing in upper extremity rehabilitation. Nicole is a member of the Canadian Society of Hand Therapists, American Society of Hand Therapists and attends the BC Hand Society annual meeting.

Nicole loves building strong therapeutic relationships with her clients, providing them the education, splints, treatment and home exercises they need after an injury or surgery to return to what they love doing. She believes her clients deserve to be well-informed about their injuries and empowered with treatments they can use to help themselves heal and strengthen. Nicole’s clients appreciate the informative education she provides, her attention to detail in their custom splints and her personalized home exercise programs.

When she’s not in the clinic, Nicole is often in the gym training for her next powerlifting competition, or spending time outdoors with her husband and two children.

Registered Physiotherapist

Lauren is a graduate of the Master of Physical Therapy Program at the University of British Columbia. Lauren also has a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from UBC Okanagan and worked as a kinesiologist specializing in injuries of the hand and upper extremity for two years. Lauren is a member of the Canadian Society of Hand Therapists and is working under the mentorship of her colleague, Nicole Hart, to become a Certified Hand Therapist. Lauren has experience working with clients with diverse rehabilitation needs including post surgical care, chronic injury management, and exercise therapy for injuries of the hand and body.

Lauren loves working with both her hand therapy and general physiotherapy clients, and utilizes an active approach to rehabilitation. She really enjoys getting to know her clients and building a strong professional relationship. Lauren wants you to learn something new each time you come for treatment, and she hopes to make you laugh while doing so.

Outside of the clinic, Lauren is a devoted dog mom and Island girl. She loves to hike with her adorable puppy, Vesper. Lauren also enjoys playing basketball, golfing, and getting up to Tofino to surf.

Physiotherapist and Certified Hand Therapist

Laureen has 30 plus years of Physiotherapy experience and has devoted the last 20 plus years to rehabilitation of the Hand and Upper Extremity.  She received her credential as a Certified Hand Therapist in 2003.

Laureen graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Physical Therapy and moved to the West Coast following her graduation.  She has practiced Physiotherapy in the hospital setting and private practice including sports and orthopaedics and hand rehabilitation.

Laureen is a member of the Canadian Society of Hand Therapists and the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.  She attends courses and conferences as part of continuing education in order to update knowledge in the ever changing science of Physiotherapy and Hand Rehabilitation.

Laureen’s focus in the rehabilitation of the Hand and Upper Extremity is to determine the goals of the client following injury or surgery and guide and motivate them through a treatment program to achieve those goals. This may include custom and non custom splints or orthoses, education regarding their condition, therapeutic modalities and exercise  to help facilitate the healing process.

Listening to the client and developing a professional relationship to empower the client to achieve their goals is a very important part of rehabilitation and recovery.

Laureen has been active in sports all of her life.  Over the past 20 years she has developed a passion for cycling and can be seen cycling to work or with her cycling buddies on a weekly basis.  She has cycled in The Ride to Conquer Cancer  and the Tour de Victoria.

Laureen is also a certified Nordixx Pole walking instructor and frequently uses her poles for cross training.

Staying active is an important and a lifelong goal.
